Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb. Small shell pasta cooked to al dente
  • 4 Tbsp. Butter unsalted
  • 3 Tbsp. All purpose flour
  • 1 ½ C. Milk
  • 1 ½ C. Heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp. Garlic powder
  • ½ C. Crumbled bacon
  • 2 C. Shredded gruyere cheese
  • 1 C. Shredded gouda cheese
  • ½ C. Panko bread crumbs
  • ¼ C. Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Melt the butter over medium heat in a saucepan on the stove.
  • Whisk in the flour, and simmer for 1 minute.
  • Pour in the milk and heavy whipping cream, stirring to combine.
  • Mix in the garlic powder, Italian seasoning and salt and pepper to taste.
  • Simmer until the mixture thickens.
  • Add in the gruyere cheese, gouda and bacon pieces. Stir to combine well until the cheeses have melted.
  • Toss the pasta in the sauce until coated well.
  • Layer the mixture in a 9x13 baking dish.
  • In a bowl, combine the panko crumbs and parmesan cheese.
  • Sprinkle the mixture over the mac and cheese in the baking dish.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
  • Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
