  • 3 cup flour
  • 4 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 can of beer
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Ingredients for the butter topping:
  • 2 tablespoon butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried parsley


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare a loaf pan by greasing with nonstick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and sugar.
  • Add the beer and stir until a soft dough begins to form.
  • Stir in the shredded cheese.
  • Place the dough in the prepared bread pan and bake for 45 to 55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool in the pan for 5 to 10 minutes, then transfer loaf to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
  • Combine the butter, garlic powder and dried parsley in a small bowl. Brush the mixture over the top of the bread before serving.
